FAQ

Short answers with stable links.

Organized by the questions people actually ask: availability, routes, equipment, safety, big screens, Studio, and where your workout data can go.

Availability and beta Stable link →

Is TerraFlo available now?

TerraFlo is preparing for early access. Register for beta and share your setup so invites can match the equipment being tested first.

Which devices come first?

Early access focuses on iPhone, Android phone, and Mac experiences first, with Apple TV and watch companion surfaces in active development and testing.

Do I need an account?

You can browse public route and product information on the site. In the app, an account is needed for activities, history, publishing, subscriptions, and connected-service sync.

What makes TerraFlo different from a normal workout video?

TerraFlo route video is paired with route data, so playback, grade, elevation, map position, and metrics stay tied to your actual effort — you travel the filmed road at your own pace instead of watching it at someone else's.

Are there gentle routes, or only climbs?

TerraFlo is built around route variety: gentle walks, steady runs, indoor rides, and climbing sessions all belong in the catalog, and gentle routes get their own category rather than hiding behind athletic defaults.

Does the video keep up if I run or ride fast?

Playback follows your measured speed rather than a preset video pace, and the engine is designed to track pace changes smoothly in both directions. Exact feel depends on the route's footage and the telemetry your equipment provides.

Equipment and setup Stable link →

What equipment does TerraFlo support?

TerraFlo is built around Bluetooth FTMS treadmills, smart cycling trainers, and sensors such as heart-rate monitors, cadence sensors, power meters, foot pods, and watch heart rate where supported.

How does TerraFlo learn what my machine can do?

During pairing, TerraFlo checks what your equipment actually exposes — telemetry, controls, and limits — through a guided setup. You stay in control throughout: a treadmill only moves when you start it at the console.

What if my equipment is not FTMS?

Register for beta with your brand and model. TerraFlo is prioritizing compatibility around real user setups, and exact fallback behavior will be shared only after support is verified.

Safety Stable link →

Will TerraFlo start my treadmill belt?

No. Arena playback does not start or resume a treadmill belt for the user — sessions begin when you start the treadmill yourself.

What happens before TerraFlo controls my equipment?

You review and accept a safety step before TerraFlo sends its first control command, control stays inside the ranges your machine reports, and an emergency stop remains available throughout.

Can I use TerraFlo for flat or constrained sessions?

Yes. Gentle route categories and bounded-control language make lower-intensity sessions visible alongside climbs and harder workouts, and route-driven incline can be turned off mid-session.

Apple TV and large screens Stable link →

Is TerraFlo built for TV workouts?

TerraFlo treats the TV as a first-class workout screen: the route fills the room while essential metrics stay readable from a treadmill or trainer where supported.

How do I sign in on a TV?

Without typing a password on the remote: the TV shows a QR code that finishes sign-in on your phone, with a short backup code as a fallback.

Can TerraFlo promise 4K video?

Not yet. Route video uses adaptive streaming that scales to your screen and connection, and TerraFlo will publish exact video-quality claims only once they are verified for the current catalog.

Studio and publishing Stable link →

What can I do in Studio?

Studio is the creator workflow for importing GPS video, aligning route footage, designing overlays, creating thumbnails, publishing routes, or exporting finished videos.

What footage works?

Footage recorded with GPS — like GoPro clips — works best. Studio aligns clips to the GPS track, stitches multi-clip rides in order, flags GPS gaps, and lets you trim or heal interruptions.

Can my route become someone else's indoor workout?

Yes. Studio is designed so a recorded route can become a TerraFlo route that other users can ride, run, or walk indoors once publishing support is enabled — with content review before anything reaches the public catalog.

Exports and data Stable link →

Can workouts sync to Strava or health apps?

Completed sessions can export to Strava, Apple Health, Health Connect, or TCX where supported. Strava uploads are honestly labeled as virtual indoor workouts with the route name attached.

What about TrainingPeaks or Garmin Connect?

TerraFlo does not offer direct TrainingPeaks or Garmin Connect integrations today. You can export a completed session as a TCX file and import it manually into platforms that accept TCX.

Is my workout data public?

No. Completed workouts are private by default. Sharing is an explicit action you take per workout, and shared summaries exclude detailed telemetry and health metrics.
